Inpatient rehabilitation
Inpatient therapy is an intensive offer for addicts in a clinical setting. It is the treatment of choice if the addiction is accompanied by
- there is a severe physical impairment, or
- a psychological problem is severe or
- particular social problems need to be addressed or
- everyday resources are not sufficient for the necessary healing process (environment, work, etc.)
- the dependent person needs a special protected space for healing
The specific course of treatment and the therapeutic services offered depend on the clinic selected and the symptoms (e.g. addiction and trauma). The aim is to be able to give up problematic consumption completely, combined with a satisfied lifestyle. Inpatient therapy usually lasts 6 to 26 weeks. The duration depends in particular on the severity of the problem and the progress made in the healing process.
If the relevant personal and insurance requirements are met, these offers are financed by the responsible cost bearer (German pension insurance or health insurance). The local advice centers will be happy to assist you with the application process.
Combination therapy is a combination of inpatient and outpatient therapy.
A phase of shortened inpatient treatment is followed seamlessly by outpatient therapy (DRV BUND) or vice versa in the event of a crisis in outpatient treatment (DRV NORD).
In order to ensure smooth treatment for the patient, handover meetings are held between the treating staff and the patient during the transition to and from the clinic. Combined therapy has the advantage of being able to switch flexibly from one form of therapy to another (even several times) if necessary.
